Wolak-Chavez Finalized for September 11 in Mexico!

According to Kurt Wolfheimer of Fightnews.com, the fight between Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. ,41-0-1 (30 KO's), and Mount Arlington's Pawel Wolak is set for September 11 in Queretaro, Mexico.

“We are excited about the opportunity to fight a recognized fighter like Julio Cesar Chavez Jr,” said Wolak’s Manager and Advisor, Ivan Edwards. “Wolak is looking to bring his own brand of excitement. He is a dangerous fighter in his own right and is ready for battle.”

A Chavez Jr. victory may very well land him a bout with WBA Junior Middleweight Champion Miguel Cotto, but Wolak’s camp has other plans in mind.

“We are not taking this fight to be Chavez’s stepping stone, stated Edwards. “If Julio thinks he is getting an easy fight, he is mistaken.

Nicknamed “The Raging Bull,” Wolak 27-1 (17 KO's), brings an aggressive in your face style, which should present quite a challenge for the undefeated Mexican superstar.

“I am going into Mexico to make a statement and beat him convincingly,” said Wolak. “I would like to thank Top Rank for the opportunity of a lifetime. I am going to be in the best shape of my life and will be victorious on September 11th.”

Fox Sports Espanol will televise the bout.
