Manager Nelson Fernandez notified GSFS that North Bergen based Peruvians Carlos "Mina" Zambrano and Juan "JZ" Zegarra have found opponents for their October 16 bouts.
Zambrano, a slick boxing featherweight,will take on hard hitting Wilfredo Acuna of Nicaragua. At 14-7 with 11 wins by knockout, Acuna has shared the squared circle with well regarded Orlando Cruz and Alejandro Sanabria, dropping ten round decisions in each fight.
Unbeaten at 11-0 (5 KO's) Zambrano has scored two straight first round stoppages in his native peru and will be fighting in the Garden State for the first time since February 2009.
Zambrano-Acuna is scheduled for ten rounds
Zegarra, a stablemate of Zambrano, will take on tough Philadelphian Julias Edmonds. With a decisive 7-8 record, Edmonds has two victories over unbeaten fighters, including a UD over highly regarded Mondre Pope in February. Zegarra, a junior welterweight who is known for his rough and rugged style, is 5-0 with all of his victories coming by knockout.
Zegarra meets Edmonds over six rounds.
The card is being promoted by Dignity Promotions and is taking place at Washington School in Union City, NJ.
