Paterson's Alexis Mejias and Atlantic City's Osnell "Prince" Charles will each fight in their opponents' backyard Saturday, September 11 at the Washington Avenue Armory in Albany, NY.
Mejias, a loser in his last four, looks to get back on track against Albany's very own Kimdo Boykin (4-0, 3 KO's). Boykin, a former amateur standout, is taking a step up in competition against Mejias, who serves as his first opponent with a winning record at 10-5 (4 KO's).
The bout is scheduled for six rounds in the heavyweight division.
Charles, who is fresh off a win over Union City's Hector Collado on the Adamek-Grant undercard, battles 4-1 Zachary Smith of Delmar, NY. Charles, 4-2, has won his last three, albeit against opponents with a combined 0-7-1 record.
The four round contest, which is between two fighters yet to score a knockout, will take place in the lightweight division.
