Maicelo to face Cuero!
GSFS was notified that North Bergen based Peruvian Jonathan Maicelo will face hard hitting Colombian Oscar Cuero October 16 in Union City.
Maicelo, 13-0 (8 KO's), is a newcomer to the area and will be fighting in the Garden State for the first time. The current WBC Latino Lightweight champion is a huge draw in his native Peru.
Cuero has a solid 13-2 pro record with 10 wins by KO. One of his two defeats came at the hands of title contender Fidel Munoz.
"We needed a tough fight (to show the American fans) Maicelo's talent," said Manager Nelson Fernandez.
Appearing on the undercard will be two of Fernandez' other unbeaten prospects in Carlos "Mina" Zambrano and Juan "JZ" Zegarra, both of North Bergen via Peru.
Paterson cruiserweight Elvin "KoKo" Sanchez will look to get back on track following his first loss when he takes on Philadelphia's Pedro Martinez, while hard hitting Union City native Juan Rodriguez and Newark's Angel Conception will battle opponents TBA.
The card is being promoted by Mike Indri's Dignity Promotions.
