New Brunswick's Jorge "King" Diaz informed GSFS that he'll battle once beaten James Owens of Milwaukee, WI on September 16 at the Capitale in NYC.
Diaz, one of the most exciting up and comers in boxing, has built a solid local following and is yet to disappoint. At 14-0 with 9 KO's, Diaz has put together a string of impressive performances, most notably knocking out 2004 Olympic Gold Medalist Yan Barthelemy in October 2009.
Owens, 4-1 (2 KO's), is coming off his lone defeat in May, which ironically came at the hands of Barthelemy's brother.
Diaz-Owens is scheduled for six rounds at junior featherweight.
