GSFS was notified by Pound 4 Pound Promotions that New Brunswick's Jorge "Kid" Diaz will make his National TV debut March 20 in Key West, Florida against slick boxing Mexican Alejandro Lopez (13-0 2 KO's).
Diaz, who sports a perfect 12-0 record with 8 by way of kayo, is considered the most exciting prospect in the Garden State and one of the best in the 122-126 lb divisions. His last two opponents failed to make it out of the opening round and last October, Diaz bust onto the scene after scoring a highlight reel knockout over 2004 Olympic Gold Medalist Yan Barthelemy. Naturally, Team Diaz is excited about the Fox Espanol showcasing.
"We think that Jorge is made for TV and would like to thank Top Rank for opportunity" said Diaz' trainer Mikey "Red" Skowronski. "He has been training hard in Passaic with some of the best fighters around and we are excited about (moving forward in) 2010"
Diaz and Lopez will meet over 8 rounds.
