Multiple sources have confirmed a deal for Secaucus’ Tomasz Adamek to battle contender Cris Arreola April 24 on HBO is virtually finished and the two will meet at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, CA.
GSFS spoke with Arreola’s trainer Henry Ramirez and Adamek’s Promoter Kathy Duva of Main Events a few weeks back regarding the potential issue over logistics. Ramirez was adamant about having the fight happen in California, Arreola’s home state, while Duva wanted it to take place at the Prudential Center in Newark, but was willing to negotiate location.
If the bout does get finalized as expected, the hard hitting Arreola (28-1 25 KO’s) will be Adamek’s toughest opponent since entering the heavyweight division. The victor will likely receive a title shot.
