Bobby "The Bull" McCarthy defeated 4 time national champion Billy Rice, last years runner up Moises Rivera and Deonte Lezine from Wisconsin in the 3rd round of the championship bout to win the National Silver Gloves title last weekend. McCarthy, who plans to turn pro during his senior year of high school, is trained by Shawn Darling Forked River's Gladiator Gym.
McCarthy is a massive 6'2 240lb sophomore at Lacey High School and has been boxing for the last three years. He now has his sights on the National Jr Olympic Tournament in June at Camp Lejeune, NC
