McDermott-Miller To Battle March 25 for NABC title in North Bergen!

Sources informed GSFS that Jersey City's Danny "Little Mac" McDermott, 8-1-1 (3 KO's), will step up in competition to take on unbeaten Brian Miller March 25 for the NABC Lightweight title in the main event of Pound 4 Pound Promotions "March Badness".

Miller is an unbeaten 7-0-3 with 3 KO's, and has entered enemy territory before. In just his third pro fight, the Schenectady, NY based Miller took on 9 fight veteran Ryan Belasco in Carney's Point, which is near the latter's hometown. In his most recent bout, Miller became the first man to stop rugged New Yorker Jose Guzman. While Miller will likely present problems, McDermott is excited as ever to enter the squared circle.

"I'm ready for this fight with Miller," said McDermott, a veteran of 50+ amateur fights. "He's a tough kid but he's not tougher than me. It’s gonna be a hell of a fight. This is a life and death fight and I’m training that way. I don’t look at this as a sporting event; I look at this fight as if it’s gonna be an all-out street fight."

A local favorite and Arturo Gatti protege, McDermott will be fighting for the first time since stopping Floriano Pagliara in May. The all-action McDermott will fight in an 8 rounder for the first time and is making his fifth consecutive appearance at Schuetzen Park.

A number of other local favorites including Victor Valenzuela, Patrick Farrell, and Chris Green are also slated to appear on the card.
