Douglin Set for Junior Middleweight Debut Next Wednesday!

Morganville's Denis "Mommas Boy" Douglin has desperately attempted to drop to 154 lbs since December. The 2008 National Golden Gloves champion was slated to face Joshua Snyder in his junior middleweight debut, but last minute problems with paperwork canned the bout after the weigh in.

Douglin was next scheduled to battle fellow prospect Latif Mundy February 6 on the Adamek-Estrada undercard, but Mundy withdrew, leaving the unbeaten prospect scrambling for a last minute 154 lb opponent. No luck. Douglin was forced to pack on the pounds shortly before the weigh in, as late replacement Eddie Hunter scaled in at 167 lbs. For the record, Douglin outpointed Hunter easily, but was frustrated with his inability to find a junior middleweight counterpart. That was until now.

Douglin's debut at 154 finally appears set for next Wednesday in New York City against 27 fight veteral Chad Greenleaf. Greenleaf has a losing record, but has shared the squared circle with notables such as Mount Arlington's Pawel Wolak, 2008 Olympian Demetrius Andrade and unbeaten Jesse Lubash.

"I don't know much about him and his record doesn't seem to be flattering", Douglin, who is 7-0 with 3 KO's, said about his 12-14-1 opponent. "This is my first fight at 154 though so it will be a good test."

If all goes well on the 31st, Douglin plans to stay at junior middleweight and establish himself as one of the top up and comers in the division.

The Douglin-Greenleaf bout is scheduled for six rounds and is taking place BB King Blues Club & Grill. Dibella Entertainment is the promoter.
