Diaz Takes Out Paneto in 2:53!

New Brunswick super bantamweight Jorge "Kid" Diaz continued his string of impressive victories after getting rid of late replacement Luis Paneto in the opening round last night in Atlantic City. Diaz bullied Paneto from the opening bell and ended the fight with a huge right hand to the head. The Puerto Rico based Paneto remained on one knee until he was counted out at 2:53.

"I didn't even know anything about Paneto", said Trainer "Mikey Red" Skowronski, who arrived in AC early Saturday morning after training Jeremy Bryan in Newark the previous night. "He was a last minute replacement but Jorge looked very sharp in camp (so I know we wouldn't have any problems."

Diaz' next fight will take place January 23 at Madison Square Garden, the same venue where he scored a highlight reel knockout over Yan Barthelemy.
