Roger Bloodworth Joins Team Adamek!

Team Adamek announced the addition of world class trainer Roger Bloodworth earlier today. Bloodworth, known for his work with Andrew Golota, David Tua and former world champion Joel Casamayor, will serve as an as assistant to Andrzej Gmitruk.


Bloodworth will join camp with Adamek who is currently preparing his fight against 2000 US Olympian Jason Estrada. The Secaucus native meets Estrada February 6 at The Prudential Center in Newark.

Bloodworth was highly recommended by Adamek co-promoter Ziggy Rozalski and brings a stacked resume which will undoubtedly help Adamek chase the heavyweight title.

Adamek Meet and Greet photos!

Tomasz Adamek (37-1, 27 KO), IBF Heavyweight International Champion and Ring Magazine Cruiserweight Champion hosted a “Meet and Greet” at Jersey Gardens Mall, Elizabeth, NJ. In anticipation of his upcoming fight against Providence Rhode Island’s, Jason Estrada, (16-2, 4 KOs) on February 6, 2010 at Prudential Center in Newark, Adamek signed autographs and posed for photos with excited fight fans. Three of the 2/6 undercard fighters also participated in the event. Fighters from left to right, Patrick Farrell, Jersey City, NJ (4-0, 3 KO’s), Tomasz Adamek, Denis Douglin, Morganville, NJ (6-0, 3 KO’s), and Sadam Ali, Brooklyn, NY (4-0, 2 KO’s). Two lovely NJ Devil’s Dancers were on hand to greet fans also.

Adamek-Arreola; A reasonable possibility or a fans dream?

According to Boxingscene.com, the proposed fan friendly bout between Secaucus' Tomasz Adamek and top ten heavyweight Cris Arreola is not close to being finalized. Talks have taken between Adamek's promoter Kathy Duva and Dan Goosen, who handles Arreola, but many things have to come together for the proposed April 24 HBO bout to come to fruition.

Adamek, 39-1 (27 KO's), must first get through his February 6 showdown with 2000 Olympian Jason Estrada (16-2 4 KO's). Adamek, who vacated his cruiserweight championship and is unlikely to return to the 200 lb division, challenges Estrada for the IBF International Heavyweight championship over twelve rounds.

Arreola is reportedly looking at other opponents as well.

Meet and Greet with Tomasz Adamek Wednesday!!

Here’s a chance for all the last minute shoppers to have some fun too! Come meet “Santa” Adamek! Tomasz ‘Goral’ Adamek (37-1, 27 KO), the IBF Heavyweight International Champion and the Ring Magazine Cruiserweight Champion will host a “Meet and Greet” at Jersey Gardens Mall, 651 Kapkowski Road, Elizabeth, NJ 07201 Lower Level Center Court, this Wednesday evening, 12/23, from 6:30pm – 7:30pm.

On February 6th at Prudential Center in Newark, NJ, Adamek will take on Jason “Big Six” Estrada (16-2, 4 KOs) of Providence, Rhode Island, in a 12 round IBF Heavyweight International Championship fight. On hand also will be three exciting, undefeated boxers who will also be featured on the February 6th show: Patrick Farrell (4-0 3 KO’s) of Jersey City, NJ; Sadam Ali (4-0 2 KO’s) Olympian from Brooklyn, NY; and Denis Douglin (6-0 3 KO’s) from Morganville, NJ.

Tickets for the fight will be available for purchase. The fighters will sign an official fight poster for each person who purchases tickets during the Meet and Greet.

Zambrano, Zegarra win in California

North Bergen resident based Peruvians Carlos "Mina" Zambrano and Juan "JZ" Zegarra scored victories December 5 at Citizen Business Bank Arena in Ontario, CA.

Zambrano, 9-0 (3 KO's), overcame a difficult Carlos Francis Hernandez en route to an 8 round majority decision. According to reports, Zambrano boxed well and controlled the pace, but Hernandez' aggression earned him a draw on one of the judge's scorecards. Scores were 77-75 twice and 76-76.

Zegarra improved to 4-0 (4 KO's), with a 2nd round knockout over Javier Romano. Romano did a lot of holding in the opening round and pressed Zegarra againt the ropes, but was knocked out just seconds into the second with a hard straight left hand.


Zegarra and Zambrano return home to fight in Lima, Peru February 25.

Kathy Duva, Main Events: “Tomasz participated in the “Polish Fight of the Century” in Poland, demolishing Andrew Golota. He pretty much made a statement with the heavyweight division. He is now going forward with plans to move up in the division and challenge for the heavyweight title eventually. After facing a very, very big, very slow, very big puncher, Tomasz is now going to come after another guy who is a lot bigger, a lot faster, a lot more mobile than Golota. He get used to another style, get himself acclimated to the heavyweight division where he certainly hopes to continue.”

Your fighter is going to get petrified in that place. I said no he’s not; he’s fought in bigger places.”

As far as the Golota fight goes, Golota was a big heavyweight in his day, a big puncher, a big strong guy, but that is not the same Golota (that Tomasz fought). To me that’s not really a fight that I would take as a justification to fight me in the heavyweight division. Maybe he should have fought someone else.”
